All stencil manufacturers should have an automated inspection process
for today's stencil requirements. It is almost impossible to inspect a
stencil manually and be assured the entire stencil is correct. Global
Stencil utilizes ScanSTENCIL and ScanCOMPARATOR to inspect all stencils.
ScanSTENCIL is a fully integrated, stand-alone measurement and
inspection workstation for use after stencil fabrication. ScanSTENCIL
uses a PC, Windows based software package integrated with a high
resolution, calibrated A3 flatbed scanner. This combination allows
inspection of stencils for accuracy and the ability to inspect 100% for
absence/presence and correct size of apertures. ScanCOMPARATOR measures
stencil apertures up to 215X when exact measurements are required.
Another feature of ScanSTENCIL is the ability to reverse engineer Gerber
data from an actual board. When the stencil design does not match the
board, or there is no Gerber data, Global Stencil can scan the board and
create Gerber data for stencil production. |
